We will be running another online advertising campaign this year leading up to the tax time to protect taxpayers and small businesses from unregistered tax preparers. The campaign will run from 6 to 30 June 2022.
The campaign themed Find a tax agent you can trust aims to create awareness amongst consumers of tax services to use the services of a registered tax practitioner. The campaign will highlight the serious issue of unregistered tax preparers using taxpayers’ MyGov account details to lodge tax returns. This illegal activity exposes consumers to fraud and puts their financial and personal information at risk.
The online advertisement will include banner advertisements encouraging consumers (individuals and businesses) to check the TPB Register to ensure the tax practitioner they use or intend to use is registered with us. We are also planning to advertise on social media and on the radio.

TPB Register

Registered tax practitioner symbol
The registered tax practitioner symbol is an easy way for consumers to see if their tax practitioner is registered with the TPB. The practitioner’s symbol may be found on a range of business materials, including websites, stationery, email signature blocks, brochures and business cards.
